  • WELLNESS EXAMS & IMMUNIZATIONS
We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in wellness exams has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness Program is designed specifically for your pet and includes: Comprehensive annual physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter surgery; and specialized blood tests for all life stages, from puppy or kitten to the geriatric pet. (*Our vaccination recommendations are made based on the individual pet’s potential disease exposure.) In addition, we are utilizing the VETJET transdermal vaccination system from Merial for their Purevax feline leukemia vaccine. This system deposits the non-adjuvanted vaccine under the skin without using a needle. Transdermal technology has been used successfully for years in human medicine and Merial is working to provide many vaccine types with this system.

  • DENTAL CARE
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth and overall health. A very high percentage of pets older than 2 years of age already have some degree of periodontal disease. To help insure the best possible dental care for our patients, we have recently upgraded our hospital with a state-of-the art veterinary dental x-ray and digital imaging system from AFP Imaging,as well as, the most modern and safe veterinary, ultrasonic equipment to clean each tooth thoroughly, above and below the gum line. Our licensed veterinary technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. We also offer OraVet, a plaque-prevention system for both cats and dogs. OraVet is a unique barrier sealant that creates an invisible shield which prevents plaque and tartar forming bacteria from attaching to teeth. We encourage and educate pet owners to follow-up with home dental care.

  • STEM CELL TREATMENT
Regenerative stem cell therapy is now a viable treatment option for degenerative arthritis in dogs.  Using autologous adult stem cells harvested from a patients own fat, the cells are concentrated into syringes and then injected back into the arthritic joints.  Over several weeks the stem cells  secrete a substance called Lubricin which has anti-inflammatory properties resulting in increased comfort and joint mobility. During the next weeks and months the damaged joints  undergo cartilage repair resulting in a regenerative joint surface which will allow for a significant reduction in both pain and inflammation.

The overall result is dogs who have significant arthritic issues can now regain mobility, become more active and live longer, better quality lives.  Many of these dogs will have their anti-inflammatory medications reduced or come off them totally.

If you are interested in more information regarding stem cell therapy just contact All Creatures Veterinary Services.

  • GLAUCOMA SCREENING
Our hospital utilizes the latest technology to screen for glaucoma. There are numerous breeds of dogs that are predisposed to the development of glaucoma or increased pressure within the eye. This condition can lead to serious problems with the eye including blindness if not detected and treated. We utilize the Tonopen instrument which can quickly and accurately measure the intraocular pressure of our patients. The unit is gently tapped on the cornea where 3 measurements are taken and an average of the 3 is calculated and displayed.

  • DOPPLER BLOOD PRESSURE UNIT
Our Doppler Blood Pressure Device is the most advanced method for measuring blood pressure particularly in cats and very small dogs. The indications for screening Dogs or Cats for Systemic Hypertension are the following: kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, hyperadrenocorticism (“cushing’s disease”), diabetes mellitus, marked obesity and all geriatric patients.

  • WISDOM PANEL MX
The Wisdom Panel MX is designed to identify the breeds present in a mixed breed dog. By analyzing a small sample of blood, the Wisdom Panel MX scans for genetic markers that represent distinct breeds recognized by the AKC (American Kennel Club).

Although the Wisdom Panel MX provides an answer to the commonly asked question, “Doctor, what is my breed?”, the benefit of this technology goes beyond simply satisfying an owners curiosity. Understanding a dog’s genetic makeup, can provide important information to both optimize healthcare over the lifetime of the pet and help understand certain behaviors associated with specific breeds.
